U.S. Veteran

WARREN L. WELSH died April 23, 2012 at his residence in Russell, KS at the age of 68. He was born on December 15, 1943 in Abilene KS, the son of Phillip Welsh and Elsie Vasholtz.

Warren was raised in Eureka and graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1961. He worked for Francis Haas Custom Harvesting and delivered Longford water. Warren served in the US Navy during the Viet Nam war. He married Florentina Diaz and they later divorced. Warren worked in the construction industry on the east coast before moving to Miltonvale in 1973. He worked for Welsh Construction until 1983 when he moved to Russell. Warren Married Karen Zamrzla on February 16, 1988 and she survives of the home. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Survivors include:

Wife: Karen Welsh, Russell, KS

Daughter: Sharon and husband Brian DeMars, Miltonvale, KS

Son: Dan and wife Becky Welsh, Topeka, KS

Step-Daughter: Kris and husband Todd Schoech, CO

Brother: Paul Welsh, Clay Center, KS

Sister: Sharon Haist, Clifton, KS

Grandchildren: 6 Grandchildren

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Phelps Funeral Home in Miltonvale, KS.

Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers.

Burial will be at the Miltonvale Cemetery, Miltonvale, Kansas.

Visitation will be held on The family will greet friends from 9:30 AM until service time on Thursday.

Memorials can be made to Friends of the Miltonvale Park or St Mary's Catholic Church in Russell
