Alberta Hofmann, 95 died March 25, 2018 in Clay Center, KS. She was born on May 21, 1922 at her parents farm south of Riley, KS, the daughter of Albert and Selma (Sylvester) Nitsche. Alberta graduated from Riley High School. She married Warren Hofmann on November 16, 1944 at the bride’s home near Riley. They made their home on the Hofmann homestead before moving to Clay Center in 1981. Warren preceded her in death on October 4, 2006. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Warrene. She was a former member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church and a current member of the Clay Center United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed being a member of the women’s group. Alberta was a homemaker and a talented seamstress and quilter, and also enjoyed crochet and embroidery. She made a quilt for each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as other lucky recipients. She was also an avid gardener and strawberries were her specialty. Survivors: Daughter: Linda and husband Tom Evert, Parker, COSon: Galen and wife Nancy Hofmann, Leonardville, KSSon: Rodney and wife Kim Hofmann, Clay Center, KSSister: Mildred and husband Harold Fehlman, Wakefield, KS 6 Grandchildren: Angela (Evert) Lutterman and husband Jeffrey; William Evert and wife Kirstin; Jennifer (Evert) Anderson and husband Mark; Gayle (Hofmann) Johnson and husband Shaun; Michelle (Hofmann) Ahumada and husband Javier; Darren Hofmann and wife Bethany; and 11 Great-grandchildren: Ryan Lutterman; Ashley Lutterman; Braeden Evert; Kyler Evert; Bria Evert; Annika Ahumada; Lillian Ahumada; Layla Johnson; Cora Johnson; Jack Johnson; Henry Hofmann. Funeral Services: 10:30 AM Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the United Methodist Church, Clay Center, KS Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas Visitation: 3-8 PM, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 4-6 PM Memorials: United Methodist Church or Meadowlark Hospice c/o the funeral home
