Alfred Long

ALFRED LEROY LONG, 86 died June 2, 2015 at the Leonardville Nursing Home in Leonardville, Kansas . He was born on October 7, 1928 in Idana, Kansas, the son of James and Eva (Kubick) Long. Alfred was raised and attended school in the Idana Area. He graduated from Clay Center Communty High School. Alfred farmed with his family in the Longford community before serving in the US Navy during WWII. Alfred married Margaret Demanett, they later divorced. He returned to Clay Center in the 1950's and worked for Northern Natural Gas. Alfred retired in the early 1980's. He was a former member of the Clay Center Presbyterian church. He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Lathan Lance Long. Survivors: Daughter: Christina Rose and husband Jim Cunningham, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Leana Renee Hamilton, Overland Park, KS Daughter: Adrian A. and husband Greg Walker, Manhattan, KS Sister: Wanda Aileen and husband Orrin Fowles, Clay Center, KS Brother: Harvey Duane Long, Longford, KS 11 Grandchildren and 11 Great-grandchildren Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, KS Officiating the service will be Rev.
