ALICE “SLEE” ANDERSON died May 17, 2011 at Clay
County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 97. She was
born on December 7, 1913 in Idana Kansas, the daughter of
Harvey and Audry (Dodson) Trechsel. Slee was raised in Idana
and graduated from CCCHS. She attended the University of
Nebraska before returning to Clay County to teach at the Jennings
Country School. Slee went back to the University of Nebraska in
1935 and then worked for the State of Nebraska. She married A.
Elmer Andy Anderson on June 25, 1939 in Lincoln, NE. They
made their home in Clay Center. Elmer preceded her in death on
December 13, 1989. She was a member of the First Presbyterian
Church in Clay Center, The Mite Society, and the Presbyterian
Cruisers. She was also a member of P.E.O., Order of the Eastern
Star, Daughters of the Nile, the Library Club, NEA, the Garden
Club, American Legion Auxiliary, the Clay Co. Arts Council and
she was a Lioness. She is also preceded in death by 1 sister.

Daughter: Lynne and her husband, Dave Knowlton, Niwot, CO
Daughter: Christine Anderson, Clay Center, KS
Grandchildren: Six Grand and Four Great Grand
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11:00
AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on will be held from 3-8 PM Friday at the
funeral home where the family will greet friends from 4-6 PM.
Memorials can be made to may be made to the church, Clay Center
Presbyterian Manor, or the Slee Anderson low cost spay and neuter
program.
