Allan M. Pettet

Allan M. Pettet died April 4, 2009 at Golden Livingcenter, Wakefield, KS at the age of 91. Allan was born on February 11, 1918 in Wakefield Kansas, the son of Charley Pettet and Daisy Retter. He grew up in rural Wakefield and attended the Sunny Slope School and Wakefield High School. He farmed all of his life in the Wakefield area. He was a past member of the Farm Bureau Board and won the Soil Conservation award in 1968. He was a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Claude and a sister, Martha Pettet-Yarrow. Survivors include: Wife: Lois Pettet, Wakefield, KS Son: Gary Pettet, Wakefield, KS Son: Chuck Pettet, Wakefield, KS Daughter: Sharon "Sharijo" Dunbar, Manhattan, KS 3 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grand Children Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 3:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Wakefield, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Diana Stewart. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery, Wakefield, KS. Visitation will be held on 5-8 PM Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the Wakefield Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Wakefield United Methodist Church.
