ANITA IDA MCMAHAN SCHULTZ died November 12, 2012 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 98. Anita was born on August 20, 1914 in Idana, Kansas the daughter of Irl and Anna Pearl (Wilson) McMahan. Anita was raised in Idana and moved to Shawnee County with her family in 1926. She attended school in Topeka. Anita married Arthur Schultz in 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1985. They made their home in Woodbine, Burlington and California. Anita worked at JC Penney in Clay Center, as a telephone operator in Topeka and in food service in Riverbank, CA. She later mader her home in Modesto, California before moving to Wichita in 2005. She was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Wichita and active in the St. Andrews Women's Circle, Red Hat Society in California and participated in several bible study groups. She is preceded by 3 brothers, Wilson, Edmond and Owen McMahan and a sister Eunice Dannefer. Survivors include: Step-Daughter: Aileen and husband Harold Hess, Maize, KS Brother: Willard McMahan, Redfield, SD Brother: Howard and wife Myrtle McMahan, Ft Worth, TX 2 Step-Grandchildren and 2 Step-Greatgrandchildren Many nieces and nephews including Steve McMahan and Sharil Carlson of Clay Center, Kansas Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 1:30 at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro. Burial will be at the Hebron Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas . Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2012 from Noon until service time. Memorials can be made to Lutheran Hour and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
