ANTON “TONY” ACLESS HARRIS, 87 died November 23, 2014 at Leonardville Nursinghome in Leonardville, KS. He was born on December 2, 1926 in Clay County, KS. The son of Clark and Blanche (Korbel) Harris.
Tony was born in Idana and raised in Clay County and graduated from CCCHS in 1944. He served in the US Army during WW II. Following the war, Tony attended Fort Scott Junior College and graduated from Kansas State University in 1954. He taught Vocational Agriculture classes in Geneseo High School and Louisburg rural high school. He had two sons, Mark and Clark, with his first wife Lougene. In 1959, Tony took a job with the City Service Oil Company, later Gulf Oil Company, working in the Kansas City area. He returned to Clay Center in 1973 to teach Vocational Agriculture at Miltonvale High School. Tony married Arlene (Brodie) Hileman on October 3, 1976. In 1980, Tony became an instructor at Cloud County Community College, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion, V.F.W., Lions Club, Elks, Masonic Lodge, and Silver Hair Legislators. Tony enjoyed volunteering, and one of his efforts resulted in Clay Center earning the Tree City USA designation. Tony?s hobbies included golf, bowling, gardening, and family history. He is preceded in death by Arlene in 2012

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Clay Center United Methodist Church in Clay Center, KS
Officiating the service will be Pastor Ryan Lynch
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 from 12:00 noon until service time at the church.
