ARLENE HILEMAN HARRIS died November 9, 2012 at Presbyterian Manor, Clay
Center, KS at the age of 84. She was born on February 21, 1928 in Manhattan Kansas, the
daughter of Robert Brodie and Bessie Dugan.
Arlene was raised in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1946. She married Joe
Hileman on June 1, 1947 and he preceded her in death on December 15, 1970. After her
marriage she worked in Topeka and Manhattan until moving to Clay Center in 1951. She
worked for the Clay County Treasurer from 1951 until 1961. She then worked for the Peoples
National Bank for the next 38 years before retiring. Arlene married Tony Harris on October 3,
1976. Arlene was a member of the United Methodist Church, B.P.W., American Legion Aux.,
V.F.W. Aux., Clay County Museum and the Leisure Club. She is also preceded in death by her
twin sister and her parents.

Step-Son: Mark and wife Mary Harris, Kansas City, KS
Step-Son: Clark and wife Paula Harris, Grand Blanc, MI
22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the United
Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. Larry Myers.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15th from 3:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home
