Arthur E. Benson

ARTHUR E. BENSON died March 29, 2011 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 74. Arthur was born on August 18, 1936 in Clay County Kansas, the son of Arthur Wallace and Jean (Rundle) Benson. Arthur graduated from CCCHS in 1955. He graduated from KSU with an Agronomy degree in 1959. Arthur served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Frances Steinfort on December 18, 1965. He farmed in Clay County. Arthur was a member of the Clay Center United Methodist Church and served on the Hayes Township Board and the Hayes Rural Fire Department. He was an associate member on the COOP Board and served on the Clay County Extension Board. Survivors include: Wife: Frances Benson, Clay Center, KS Son: Ron and his wife, Kathryn Benson, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Wendy and her husband, Andy Pederson, Hiawatha, KS 4 Grandchildren Brother: Harvey and his wife, Martha Benson, Clay Center, KS Sister: Evelyn and her husband, Jon Larson, Randolph, KS Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 10:30AM at the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Larry Myers. Burial will be at the Republican City Cemetery, Clay County, KS. Visitation will be held from 3-8PM Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or the charity of the donor's choice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
