Bernice J Meenen

BERNICE MEENEN died August 14, 2013 at Community Care Inc., Clifton, KS at the age of 95. She was born on January 20, 1918 in Clay County, KS the daughter of Frank and Bess (Barclay) Bryan. Bernice was raised in Exeter township. She attended 4 Mile school and graduated from CCCHS. Bernice married Friedrich Meenen on June 12, 1938. They farmed south of Clifton. She was a member of Faith United Church Presbyterian, past matron of Order of Eastern Star, past queen of Daughters of the Nile, Willing Helpers Club, Clifton Art Buffs and was a 4-H leader. Friedrich preceded her in death on March 11, 2011. Bernice is also preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. Survivors include: Daughter: Jan and husband Terry Donahey, Coffeyville, KS Daughter: Dena Buckridge, Grove, OK Son: Lail and wife Peggy Meenen, Shawnee, OK Son: Lynn and wife Carole Meenen, Valley View, TX Sister: Mary Nelson, Surprise, AZ 9 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Faith United Church Presbyterian in Clifton, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor FrankLyn Schroeder. Burial will be at the Riverdale Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 2-4 PM Sunday at Faith United Church Presbyterian Memorials can be made to Community Care, Inc.
