Bessie Mae Mcintosh

BESSIE MAE MCINTOSH died November 19, 2008 at Presbyterian Manor, Newton, KS at the age of 91. She was born on December 22, 1916 in Rice County, KS the daughter of William and Anna (Engelland) Wills. She graduated from Washburn University Law School in 1940. She married Daniel Elton McIntosh, Jr. on March 24, 1943 at the Midland Church in Rice County. Bessie Mae worked as an attorney for the FBI in Washington, D.C. during WWII. They made their home in Clay Center. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Mite Society, Cruisers, taught Bible study and was a 60 year member of Chapter AS, PEO. She was active in the Washburn University Alumni Assn and established the Elton and Bessie Mae McIntosh Scholarship at Washburn. Elton preceded her in death on March 10, 2001. She is also preceded by an infant son, Daniel Elton, III and a brother. Survivors include: Daughter: Ann and husband Tom Adrian, Newton, KS Daughter: Mary and husband Phil Shull, Wichita, KS Daughter: Sue and husband Jim Fawcett, Junction City, KS Grandchildren: 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas . Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers. Memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Church, Clay Center Presbyterian Manor or Newton Presbyterian Manor c/o the funeral home
