Betty Bechard

BETTY MARIE BECHARD died January 7, 2012 at , Clifton, KS at the age of 82. She was born on May 13, 1929 in Clay County Kansas, the daughter of John Urban and Mary (Gunter) Urban-Lewis. Betty was born and raised in Clay County near Morganville, KS. She married Norman Bechard on December 6, 1948. Betty worked as a nurse's aide for over 30 years at nursing homes in Clay Center, Morganville and Clifton. She also cleaned at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Post Office, City Hall and the bank, all in Clifton. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, Tess Gallagher, and two brothers, George and Alvin Urban. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Altar Society, Senior Citizen's Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Crawford/Sherman Club and the Redhatters of Clifton. Survivors include: Daughter: Kathryn and husband Tom Kahrs, Gardner, KS Son: Steven and wife Susan Bechard, Clifton, KS Son: Anthony Tony and wife Vicki Bechard, McLouth, KS Daughter: Mary and husband Jim Yadon, Topeka, KS Daughter: Michelle and husband MArc Gallagher, Salina, KS Daughter: Lisa Bechard, Clifton, KS Grandchildren: 15 Grand and 15 Great-grand Brother: Fred Urban, Clay Center, KS Brother: Clarence Urban, Morganville, KS Brother: Charles Chuck Urban, Berryton, KS Sister: Scharlotte Knitter, Clay Center, KS Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clifton, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Father Larry Letourneau. Burial will be at the St. Marys Cemetery, Clifton, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 5-7 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church with rosary at 7PM Memorials can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Altar Society or Meadowlark Hospice c/o the funeral home
