Betty Nelson

Betty R. Nelson, 80, passed away January 10, 2020 at Medicalodge in Clay Center, Kansas.  She was born Sept. 24, 1939 to Lewis and Irene (Breeden) Wright in Palastine, Arkansas.  She married Tom Nelson on October 14, 1989. She was a member of the Clay Center Wesleyan Church and worked as a seamstress for Scott Specialty. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She is survived by her husband Tom Nelson of Clay Center, KS, 6 children Jennifer “B.J” Finn of Kansas City, MO, Gwen Smith of Salina, KS, Wayne (Teresa) Smith of Salina, KS,  Stephen “Steve” Smith of Clifton, KS,  Rodney (Aimie) Smith of Salina, KS, Don (Tera)Totten of Ellsworth, KS, two stepchildren Darin (Theresa) Nelson of Galva, KS and Dorin Nelson of Marquette, KS, 4 Brothers, 23 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild and her best friend, Donna Craig of Salina.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral Services: January 16, 2020 at 1:30 PM at the Wesleyan Church in Clay Center, KS

Minister: Pastor Rob Stewart and John Paulson

Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS

Visitation: January 15, 2020 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home
