BETTY LEORA SHARP died May 4, 2010 at her residence in Clay Center, KS at the age
of 78. She was born on March 27, 1932 in Clay Center Kansas, the daughter of Henry Tripp
and Sarah (Hare) Johnson. Betty was raised in Rossville and graduated from Rossville High
School in 1950. She married Raymond Sharp on March 1, 1953. Raymond preceded her in
death on May 4, 2003. They made their home in Wichita before returning to Clay Center in
1956. They managed the Dairy Queen from 1956 to 1972. Betty was co-owner and bookkeeper
for Sharp Plumbing and later receptionist and bookkeeper for Hundley's Garage, retiring in 2008.
Betty was a member of the Clay Center Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star #180, American
Legion Auxiliary and past president of the Tree Board, all of Clay Center. She also served with
the PTA at the local and state levels. Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Vivian
Tripp and a brother, Earl Tripp.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 5:00 PM at the Clay Center
Christian Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Pastor Doug Wallace.
In Lieu of Flowers Memorials contributions are suggested to Meadowlark Hospice or Clay
Center Christian Church Building Fund c/o the funeral home
