Bill Smith

WILLIAM "BILL" SMITH died November 14, 2008 at Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center, Topeka, KS at the age of 88. He was born on December 24, 1919 in Clay Center, Kansas the of Frank Smith and Catherine Shelly. He was born and raised on Clay Center. He served in the US Army during WWII, and was a POW in Germany. Bill married Stella Hodges on December 26, 1956. She preceded him in death on September 3, 2003. He owned and rented several houses in Clay Center. Bill was a member of the American Legion in Clay Center. He is also preceded by a son and 2 brothers. Survivors include: 1 Grandson 3 Step Grandchildren 6 Step-Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Bil Smith. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Monday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to Organization of the donor's choice c/o the funeral home
