BILL BRANFORT died February 5, 2012 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 87. BILL BRANFORT was born on September 15, 1924 in Clay County Kansas, the son of William Guy Branfort and Ida Mae Pfile. Bill started school at the Idyllwild Country School, His family moved to Mulberry Township south of Clifton in 1938 where he attended Mud Creek and Clifton High School where he graduated in 1943. He was united in marriage to Maxine Gardner on October 2, 1944. Bill and Maxine spent their lives farming, and his love of planting and watching things grow continued after he retired with his garden and roses. He enjoyed his family and liked to entertain the kids with his art. He was happiest when he could help his family and friends with his ability to fix anything. He was a member of the Faith United Church Presbyterian in Clifton. He is prededed by his son Phillip in 2004 and his brothers Porter and Leo, and a sister in law Velma Branfort. Survivors include: Wife: Maxine Branfort, Clifton, KS Son: Mark Branfort, Clifton, KS Daughter: JoDee and husband Galen Haas, Clifton, KS Daughter-In-Law: Bonnie Branfort, Clyde, KS Grandchildren: Shawn and Renay Branfort, Jason and Jeannine Branfort, Aron Branfort, Jennifer and Wes Crain, and Janene and Jordan Aggson, James Haas, Billy Haas, and Lori and Fred Nelson Great Grandchildren: Jordan, Jareb, Jayda, Bethany and Lucas Branfort, Layla Aggson, Linnea, Avrie and William Haas, Tyler Bergkamp and Whitney LaBarge Sister-In-Law: Dorothy Gardner Sister-In-Law: Doloras Gardner Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Faith United Church Presbyterian in Clifton, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Franklyn Schroeder. Burial will be at the Sherman Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8 from 5-8pm at the Faith United Church Presbyterian in Clifton. Memorials can be made to Clifton Kiddy Park or the Clifton Ball Fund, c/o Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.
