William Bluford Hemphill, 97 years died November 6, 2016 in Clay Cneter, KS. He was born on July 30, 1919 in Clay County, KS, the son of George and Myrtle (Berrier) Hemphill. Bluford was raised and farmed on his grandfather’s homestead. He married Ivy Sutter on May 10, 1941. They moved to Clay Center in 1952. Bluford continued farming and he worked for Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home. Ivy preceded him in death on September 18, 2004. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Bluford was also preceded in death his parents, and 1 brother, Frank.
