Brenda Michels

Affectionately known as "Bim," Brenda Michels passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her.

Brenda was born on Aug 31, 1969 to Tom and Linda Froehlich. She graduated from Clay Center Community High School in 1987 and shortly thereafter moved to the Kansas City area where she resided for many years. She was a fun-loving mother, devoted sister, cherished aunt, and loyal friend. She embraced life with a free spirit and a personality that could never be mistaken for anyone else's. Known for her unmistakable love of leopard print, Brenda brought color, laughter, and authenticity wherever she went. She lived life on her own terms, and her bold spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Brenda was passionate about caring for others throughout her life. Her favorite role was being a stay at-home mom, where she poured her heart into raising her sons. She also found purpose in helping patients through her work at various medical offices, always offering kindness and compassion to those she met. Also, as a paraprofessional, she was dedicated to supporting children with special needs, a role that reflected her patient heart and desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Brenda never arrived at a family gathering empty-handed. Her famous spinach dip was a staple at holidays, parties, and get-togethers, and her delicious pumpkin roll was just as eagerly anticipated. Sharing food was one of the many ways she showed her love, and those memories around the table will be cherished for years to come.

Throughout her life, Brenda faced many struggles and hardships with strength and resilience. Though her journey was not always easy, her family finds comfort in knowing that she has found the peace she Ionged for and is now free from pain.

Above all else, Brenda loved her family. She is survived by her beloved sons, Tyler Michels and Logan (Jasmine) Michels who were the greatest joys of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Laurie Clark, and her brother, Brad Froehlich; her nieces, Jennifer Tiemeyer (Jonathan Rios), Amy (Greg) Zumbrunn, and Erica (Kane) Kramer; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Brenda's vibrant spirit, caring heart, generous nature, and unforgettable style will continue to live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered and the countless lives she touched as a mother, caregiver, and advocate for children with special needs. While her presence will be deeply missed, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 6th from noon to 4:00 PM @ 1510 18th Rd. in Clay Center. A meal will be served.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Brenda Michels Memorial fund and left in care of the funeral home.
