Brenda Nelson

BRENDA G. NELSON died August 4, 2012 at her residence in Clay Center, KS at the age of 63. Brenda was born on December 23, 1948 in Clay Center Kansas, the daughter of Emmett Olson and Berndette Ahlquist. Brenda graduated from CCCHS in 1966. She married Tom Nelson on May 2, 1970 and she worked for the McCall Pattern Company. She began working for Clay Center Public Utilities in 1975 and retired in 2007. Brenda was a member of the Clay Center United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Beau in 1993, her parents, and 3 grandchildren. Survivors include: Husband: Tom Nelson, Clay Center, KS Son: Brian Lee and wife, Carrie Nelson, Dallas, TX Son: Dillon Nelson, Ft. Bliss, TX Daughter: Samantha and husband, Robert Nix, Ft. Hood, TX Son: Richie Nelson, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Anntanette Nelson, Clay Center, KS One Grandchild Sister: Collette Meyers, Flagstaff , AZ Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry Meyers. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 3-8PM Monday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 5-7 PM.. Memorials may be made to the Brenda Nelson Memorial Fund to be designated later and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
