Carol A. Kirtley

CAROL A. KIRTLEY died October 22, 2011 at Mercy Health Center College Ave, Manhattan, KS at the age of 88. Carol was born on February 23, 1923 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Albert and Myrtle (Myklebust) Hibbard. Carol was raised in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota area, graduating from Washburn High School. She attended Augsburg College, Hamlin University and then attended Asbury Nursing School. Carol married Rev. Frank Kirtley on June 25, 1943 and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1992. The couple served Methodist Churches in Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Kansas before retiring and moving to Clay Center in 1988. Survivors include: Son: Frank and his wife, Linda Kirtley, Decatur, MS Son: Al and his wife, Carolyn Kirtley, Clay Center, KS Son: Paul Kirtley, Loveland, CO Foster Daughter: Barbara Larmore, El Paso, TX Foster Daughter: Katherine Boeckenhauer , Ainsworth, NE 7 Grandchhildren and 11 Great Grandchildren Sister: Alberta Steele, Coon Rapids, MN Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry Myers. Graveside services will be at 4:00 PM Wednesday, October 26, 2011 the Lowry City Cemetery, Lowry City, MO. Visitation will be held on will be held fro 3-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home and the family will greet friends from 5-6 PM. Memorials can be made to may be made to the Clay Center United Methodist Church and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
