Carol Slingsby

CAROL JEAN SLINGSBY, 61 died March 19, 2014 at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. She was born on November 24, 1952 in Hays, KS. The daughter of  Fred, Jr. and Eunice (Balthazor)Berland . Carol was raised in Zurich KS and graduated from Palco High School in 1970. She graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1974. She married Walt Slingsby on June 3, 1977 and survives of the home. She was a teacher in Gove KS and moved to Clay Center KS in 1977 and was an elementary teacher for USD 379. She stopped teaching to raise her children and has been teaching again since 1992. She was a member of the S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, serving on the Parish Council and teaching Catechism for many years. She was also on the Clay Center Library Board and PTA. Mark Berland, Oberlin, KS Sister: Kay Basgall, Owosso, MI Sister: Ann Zwink, Peidmont, OK Sister: Mary Everett, Wilson, KS Sister: Lois Mason, Ellis, KS Sister: Rebecca Cobb, Peoria, AZ 2 Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 26 at 10:30am at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center, KS Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 3-6pm at the funeral home.
