Carol Grace Thurlow

Carol Grace Thurlow died January 12, 2009 at Mercy Health Center in Manhattan, KS at the age of 74. Carol was born on December 28, 1934 in Northwood, Iowa the daughter of Carl and Louise (Stumo) Pederson. She was raised in Lyle, Minnesota and graduated from Lyle High School. She received her LPN degree from St. Olaf College in Minnesota. She married Stanley Thurlow on May 18, 1958 and the couple made their home in Wakefield. She was a former member of the Jolly Neighbors Club and St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Kay Thurlow in 1999 and a granddaughter. Survivors include: Husband: Stanley Thurlow, Wakefield, KS Son: Mark and his wife, Janet Thurlow, Clay Center, KS Son: Todd and his wife, Lisa Thurlow, Overland Park, KS Son: Scott and his wife, Bonnie Thurlow, Baldwin, KS Son: Curt Thurlow, Wakefield, KS Daughter: Joyce and her husband, Scott Wright, Franklin, NC Grandchildren: 13 Grandchildren Brother: Nyles Pederson, Lyle, MN Sister: Gilma Bothum, Austin, MN Sister: Phyllis Bruhn, St. Bonifacius, MN Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Madura Congregational Church in Wakefield, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Todd Britt. Burial will be at the Madura Cemetery, Wakefield, KS. Visitation will be held on will be held from 5-8 PM Thursday at the Wakefield Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Wakefield Museum or to the Madura Congregational Church in care of the funeral home.
