Catherine Jennie Hanson

Catherine Jennie Hanson died September 12, 2009 in Salina, KS at the age of 86. Catherine was born on November 10, 1922 in Clay County Kansas, the daughter of Thomas Parry and Alta May Yowell. She was raised in Clay Center and graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1941. She married Clayton Hanson in October 1941. They made their home in Oregon. Following WWII, they moved to Concordia and then to Manhattan. Catherine worked at Dillons and Ben Franklin's. She was preceded by her parents, 4 brothers, 1 sister and 1 great-greatgrandson. Survivors include: Daughter: Cynthia Tholstrup, Concordia, KS Granddaughter: Marie Tholstrup-Nelson, Salina, KS Granddaughter: Marsha Strang, Concordia, KS Granddaughter: Melinda Seward, Concordia, KS Granddaughter: Amie Blake, Manhattan, KS 10 Great grandchildren and 8 Great-Great grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor James Bridges. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16th from 1:00 to 5:00. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Salina.
