Catherine Simon

?CATHERINE SIMON died August 22, 2011 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 93. She was born on May 14, 1918 in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of William and Helen (McFadden) Segan. Catherine was born and raised in Phildelphia, Pennsylvania. She married Winfred Simon in 1938. Catherine served as the Milford City Clerk, a member of the Geary Community Hospital advisory board and Geary County Senior Citizens, Inc advisory board, coordinated University for Man in Manhattan, spent 21 years working for the US Postal Service, retiring as postmaster in 1986. Catherine was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Ladies Alter Society Circle II and 20 years in the Girl Scouts, serving in all levels of scouting. Winfield preceded her in death in 1974, she is also preceded by an infant son, 1 brother and 1 sister. Survivors include: Daughter: Patricia and husband Samuel Auld, Wakefield, KS Daughter: Deborah and husband David Barker, Wichita, KS Grandchildren: 8 Grand & 16 Great-Grand Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Junction City, Kansas. Officiating the service will be The Rev. Al Brungardt. Burial will be at the Milford Cemetery, Milford, Kansas.
