Cecil W. Brown

Cecil W. Brown, 57, died May 11, 2014 at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri from injuries sustained in an accident. He was born November 26, 1956 the son of Gloria (Blevins) and Ernest Brown in Clay Center, Kansas. Cecil was raised in Green, Kansas living with his grandparents, George and Lena Luther and his mother and stepfather, Gloria and Ross Sager. He attended schools in Green and Clay Center. Cecil became quite the handyman and remodeled houses. He had lived in Missouri for several years. Cecil gave the gift of life as an organ and tissue donor. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Lena Luther, mother, Gloria Sager, father, Ernest Brown, and stepfather, Ross Sager. Survivors: Wife: Ava Brown, Salina, Kansas Daughter: Talene Brown, Nebraska Daughter: Kristine and husband Bruce Hall, Missouri Daughter: Gloria and husband Anthony Hopkins, Missouri Daughter: Lena Brown, Missouri Daughter: Ruby Brown, Missouri Son: George and wife Janet, Missouri Son: David Purcell, Salina, Kansas Brother: Jesse "Johnny" Sager, Concordia, Kansas Sister: Dawn McGee and husband Vernon, Clay Center, Kansas Sister: Debra and husband Russ Sullivan, Wichita, Kansas Grandchildren: 17 Grandchildren Several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 2PM at the Green Cemetery in Green, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Mr. Don Rosenow. Memorials may be made to CASA and can be snt in care of the funeral home.
