Charles Mclaughlin

CHARLES MCLAUGHLIN died October 13, 2012 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 87. Charles was born on April 10, 1925 in Clay County Kansas, the son of Loris and Alma (Sorell) McLaughlin. Charles farmed south of Clifton his entire life. He married Alma Long Kahrs on April 6, 1974 and she preceded him in death on November 29, 2011. Charles was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Palmer, the Masonic Lodge, and he served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Survivors include: Step-Daughter: Donna Anderson, Clifton, KS Step-Son: Darrell and companion Judy Branfort Kahrs, Clifton, KS Step-Daughter: Trudy Reed, Clifton, KS 11 step grandchildren, 33 step great grandchildren, 3 step great great grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Palmer, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Tom Sahl. Burial will be at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Vining, Kansas. Visitation will be held on will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM , Tuesday at Turner Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to may be made to the Park Villa Nursing Home sent in care of the funeral home.
