CHERYL TEMPLIN died April 19, 2011 at Namaste Nursing Home, Colorado Springs,
Colorado at the age of 98. Cheryl was born on January 15, 1913 in Miltonvale Kansas, the
daughter of Walter and Sylva (Jackson) Lassey.
Cheryl grew up in Miltonvale and graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1931. She
attended Kansas State University and then taught school at Oak Hill. She married Harold Walker
on May 24, 1935 and they later divorced. She lived in Anaconda, Montana from 1939 until
1960. Cheryl worked for the Garden City Telegram as the Women's Editor. She married J. Laten
Templin on September 16, 1967 and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1987. She moved
back to Miltonvale in 1975 and was on the city council and taught group and private art lessons.
Cheryl was a member of the Miltonvale Presbyterian Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and
P.E.O. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Diane Hoffmann; brother,
Gwynn Lassey; and sister, Josephine Greep.

Daughter: CherieJo and her husband, John Medley, Grainfield, KS
Son: Clayton Walker, Anchorage, AK

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 11:00AM at the Miltonvale
Presbyterian Church in Miltonvale,Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. Robert Winters.
Burial will be at the Miltonvale Cemetery, Miltonvale, Kansas.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until service time at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Miltonvale Presbyterian Church and sent in care of the funeral
home.
