CLARENCE BURGER died March 1, 2011 at Presbyterian Manor, Clay Center, KS at the age of 83. He was born on June 14, 1927 in Clay Center Kansas, the son of Karl and Stella (Jacobs) Burger. Clarence was raised in Clay County and farmed in Clay County all of his life. He married Helen Beichter on April 13, 1952 and she preceded him in death on April 29, 2006. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an Elder of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and he also served on the CO-OP Board. Clarence was also preceded in death by one sister, Erna. Survivors include: Son: Tim and wife Kathy Burger, Clay Center, KS Son: Scott and wife Debbie Burger, Kansas City, KS Daughter: Sheila and husband Doug Frihart, Manhattan, KS Son: Jay Burger, Manhattan, KS Grandchildren: Tessa and Emily Burger, Jordan and Allison Frihart Sister: Elsie Hiesterman, Linn, KS Brother: Herman Burger, Clare, IA Brother: Edwin Burger, Austin, MN Sister: Dorothy Harris, Ft. Dodge, IA Brother: William Burger, Palmer, KS Brother: LeRoy Burger, Del Ray Beach, FL Sister: Mabel Bunday, Hamel, MN Brother: Dale Burger, Clay Center, KS Sister: Edna Koch, Clay Center, KS Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on will be helld on Thursday, March 3 ffrom 3-8PM at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Chuhrch in care of the funeral home.
