Claryce Haws

CLARYCE HAWS died February 23, 2011 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 94. She was born on December 8, 1916 in Mynard, Nebraska the son of Christopher and Jane (Speck) Murray. Claryce graduated from Louiseville, NE high school. She married Virtus Haws on April 5, 1936 and they made their home in the Clay Center community. Claryce worked as an L.P.N. at the Clay County Hospital and worked at the Clay County Historical Society for 32 years. Virtus preceded her in death on November 16, 2000. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School, Lincoln Creek Busy Bees 4-H, Order of Eastern Star #180 and the Neighborhood Club. She is also preceded by 2 sisters. Survivors include: Son: Glen Diana Haws, Clay Center, KS Son: Virtus Paul and wife Anne Haws, Sr, Orange Park , FL Grandchildren: 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011at 10:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas . Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Friday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital c/o the funeral home
