Clifford Owens

CLIFFORD C. OWENS died July 29, 2010 at 502 Lincoln, St. George, KS at the age of 85. He was born on May 24, 1925 in Republic County, Kansas the son of William “Neil” and Julia (Quick) Owens. Clifford was raised in Republic and Jewell counties and graduated from Courtland High School. He married Ruth Thomas on July 10, 1949. Clifford owned and operated Owens Repair Service and then farmed and worked at automobile and farm implement dealerships, the Longford Mill, Gilmore-Tatge Manufacturing and Hutchinson Manufacturing. Ruth preceded him in death on February 21, 2004. He was a member of the Hayes United Methodist Church, later transferring to the Clay Center United Methodist Church. He is also preceded by an infant son, Neil. Survivors include: Daughter: Pamela and husband Shane Soeken, St. George, KS Granddaughter: Patricia Soeken Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry Myers. Burial will be at the Hayes Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 3rd from 3:00 until 8:00pm at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Clifford Owens Memorial Fund to be designated later
