Clinton Davies Jr.

Clinton Davies Jr., age 78, died July 27, 2023, in Wakefield, Kansas. He was born to Clinton Sr. and Marvis (Hess) Davies in Clay Center, Kansas on June 8, 1945. Clinton grew up in the Clay Center community. He was a 1964 graduate of Clay Center Community High School. Clinton married Verna McGee and had three children, Clinton III, Laura and Michelle. Clinton and Verna later divorced. Clinton joined the Kansas Army National Guard and served seven years. One of his proudest moments in the National Guard was serving as a communications Sergeant and working communications for the Dwight D. Eisenhower Funeral. Clinton worked for various grain elevators in the area, Clay Center Public Works at the power plant and for Hankemeier Ready Mix. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Jerry Davies. Survivors: Son: Clinton Davies III and fiance Stephanie Tubbs of Glasco, KS Daughter: Laura and husband Gary Luedke of Clay Center, KS Daughter: Michelle and husband Mike Patterson of Oregon Brother: Gary and wife Vera Davies of Clay Center, KS Siste-in-Law: Mavis Davies of Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: Lillyann Davies, Emmalee and Betsey Luedke, Nicolas, Whitney, Sierra and Austin Patterson 8 Great Grandchildren Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 18, 2023 at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS Memorial Contributions: In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Clinton Davies Jr. Memorial Fund to help with funeral expenses
