Connie Coreen Demaray Bauer was born July 18, 1926, to David and Ethelyn Demaray in Burr Oak, KS. She graduated from Burr Oak High School and was active in 4-H, winning honors with her sewing. She carried her sewing talent through life, making clothes and many quilts for family and friends.
Connie married Wade Bauer of Broughton, KS, December 6, 1944, in Chicago. To this union were born three children. Her family was her life, and they were always welcome at “Grannie’s.” She cooked what she knew they liked. She was a devoted farmer’s wife in the Broughton community. In 1965 the family moved their home to Clay Center. In 1966 they moved into the home they built on Lafayette Street where they have resided for the past 45 years. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband; sons, David Arlan and wife Ann of Kearney, NE, and Ernest Allan and wife Frances of Davisburg, MI; daughter, Nancie Lyn and husband Tom of Lenexa, KS; 12 grandchildren, Paul, Marc, Andrew, Rebecca, Joshua, Andrea, Wade, Russell, Abigail, Bradley, Gregory, and Douglas; 26 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Meghan, Hannah, Ryan, Scott, Allison, Julia, Sophia, Henry, Benjamin, Nora, Madilynne, Lydia, Lucas, Peter, Adam, Jackson, Emma, Greta, Hudson, Audrey, Amelia, Oliver, Oscar, Addison; sister, Rose Marie and husband Keith McKeown of Superior, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 10:00AM at the United
Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Burial will be at the Broughton Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home
