Connie Swenson

Constance D. “Connie” Swenson, died Friday, February 4, 2022 at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor.  She was born August 13, 1928 in Clay County, the daughter of Lemue and Minnie Close.

Connie graduated from CCCHS in 1946.  She married Lloyd Swenson on February 16, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 2019 after 72 years of marriage.  The couple enjoyed travelin together.  She had a gentle and soft spoken nature and was frugal with herself but generous with others.  Connie worked at the Clay County Hospital, J.C. Penney and Cablecom.  She was a member of the Clay Center United Methodist Church.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Paula Swenson, 2 brothers Don and Leo Close and sister, Marie Malen.

Son: Ron and wife, Diane Swenson of Sherman, Texas

Son: Kenneth and wife, Suzi Swenson of Londonderry, New Hampshire

9 grandchildren 2 great grandchildren

A remembrance of her life will be shared in a private family service.

Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association c/o the funeral home.
