Darlyene Newell

DARLYENE OLIVE NEWELL died January 23, 2011 at Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan, KS at the age of 82. She was born on September 21, 1928 in Concordia Kansas, the daughter of Lloyd and Olive (Byrne) Regnier. Darlyene graduated from Washington High School in 1946. She married Loyall Newell, Jr. on August 10, 1947 and he survives of the home. She worked as a receptionist for Dr. Charles Blattner. She also worked at J.C. Penney, owned Kit 'N' Kaboodle Craft Shop, then worked at You Save Mart, and as a CNA at the Clay County Community Hospital and she was a homemaker. Darlyene was a member of the Clay Center Evangelical Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and the As You Are Club. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Milton and Duward Regnier. Survivors include: Husband: Loyall Newell, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Debbie and her husband, Perrie Seyffer, Longford, KS Son: Joe and his wife, Gloria Newell, Clay Center, KS Son: Greg and his wife, Cindy Newell, Durant, OK Grandchildren: Seven Grand and Ten Great Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Grant Clay. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on will be held from 3-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to may be made to Wycliff Bible Translation or the Evangelical Covenant Church.
