Darlynne Bishop

DARLYNNE VAUGHN BISHOP died September 23, 2012 at St Ann's Health Care Center, Dover , NH at the age of 84. She was born on April 2, 1928 in Dodge City KS, the daughter of Merle and Cora (Absher) Ford. Darlynne was raised in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1946. She married Zenus Hicks, he preceded her in death. She later married Robert Bishop and he preceded her in death. Darlynne made her home in New Jersey and Virginia before moving to New Hampshire in 2000. She worked for Chanel Inc. for 20 years, retiring in 1993. Darlynne was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a Past Worthy Matron in New Jersey, the American Legion Auxiliary in Virginia and the Heritage Baptist Church in New Hampshire. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Helm and Doris Orin and a great-granddaughter, Megan Wilburn. Survivors include: Son: Robert and wife Carol Bishop, Broomfield, CO Son: Allan and wife Michelle Bishop, Somersworth, NH Son: Gerry and wife Kathy Bishop, Sun City, AZ Daughter: Zena and husband Gordon Freeman, Walnut Hill , FL Daughter: Rena and husband Harold Baker, Pomplin, VA Daughter: Orena and husband Frank Strum, Northwood, NH Sister: Merlette Fox Sister: Nancy Fyfe 14 Grandchildren and 10 Great-grandchildren, 5 Step-Great-grandchildren & 2 Step-great-great-grandsons Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Matthew Coleman. Memorials can be made to Heritage Baptist Church c/o the funeral home
