David Wayne Herrs, 70 died May 11, 2022 in Salina, KS.  He was born on October 15, 1951 in Norton, KS the son of Wilbert and Zula (Neff ) Herrs.  David was raised by George and Clara Von Lehe on their farm near Palmer, KS. After graduating from High School, David served in the US Marines from 1969 to 1977.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam war. On December 7, 1974, David married Amelita (Amee) Villones.  After receiving an honorable discharge from the Marines, they moved to Clay Center, KS and eventually bought their family farm near Green, KS.  Along with farming, David operated the road maintainer for Goshen and Kimeo townships at different times.  Mostly, he enjoyed being on the farm and tinkering with all kinds of machinery while listening to a variety of music, which led to him starting a DJ business for local weddings and events where he was also known as “Griz”.  David was preceded in death by his parents.

Wife: Amee Herrs of Green, KS

Daughter: Diana Herrs of Green, KS

Son: A.J. Herrs of Houston, TX

2 Grandchildren: J.W. and Oliver Herrs

Graveside services: 10 AM Tuesday, May 17 at Greenwood Cemetery

Visitation: 4-7 PM Monday, May 16, 2022, at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home
