DEAN HIXON died March 18, 2013 at Presbyterian Manor, Clay Center, KS at the age
of 91. He was born on October 19, 1921 in Benedict, Kansas the son of Arlie and Irma
(Caughey) Hixon.
Dean was raised in Wilson County, Kansas. He served in the US Navy as a pilot during
WWII. Dean married Virginia Bruce on July 26, 1953 and she survives. He worked at the Clay
Center Dispatch for 30 years before retiring in 1984. He attended the Clay Center Christian
Church and was a member of the Clay Center Lions Club and the Linn American Legion. He
also was past president of the Kansas Newspaper Advertisers Association. Dean was preceded in
death by a son and 2 brothers.

Grandchildren: 2 grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the
Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on will be held from 3-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

can be sent in care of the funeral home.
