Dean Otto died October 4, 2009 at Village Manor, Abilene, KS at the age of 74. Dean
was born on December 20, 1934 in Junction City Kansas, the son of Dan and Mary
(Sylvester) Otto.
He attended ACME and District 75 schools, graduating from Wakefield High School.
He married Evelyn Dunn on, October 26, 1957. He farmed in the wakefield community. He was
a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church where he served as trustee. He served in
the National Guard. He was on the COOP board and was the first rural fire chief in the
Wakefield area.

Son: Scott and his wife, Darla Otto, Wakefield, KS
Daughter: Sandy and her husband, Doug Smith, Salina, KS
Daughter: Jennifer and her husband, Clay Foltz, Wamego, KS
Sister: Linda Lefert, Upland, KS
Sister: Rosemary and her husband, Leo Lefert, Wakefield, KS
Grandchildren: 5 Grandchildren and 5 Step Grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 1:30PM at the Wakefield United
Methodist Church in Wakefield, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. Diana Stewart and Rev. Gerry Sharp.
Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery, Wakefield, KS.
Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Wakefield United Methodist Church.
Memorials can be made to may be made to the church or the Republican Valley Farm Museum in
care of the funeral home.
