Dennis Letourneau

DENNIS LETOURNEAU died February 17, 2011 at of 64. He was born on August 30, 1946, the son of Leo and Jerris (Tobyne) Letourneau. Dennis graduated from Bennington High School and enlisted in the US Navy. He served three years as a Dental Tech at the Naval Weapons Station in Yorktown, VA and one year attached to the Marine Corps. Dennis attended Kansas Wesleyan University and Marymount College, earning a Masters Degree in Criminology. He worked for the Salina Police Dept. and as a corrections officer at the state prison in El Dorado, retiring in 2010. Dennis is preceded in death by his father and a baby sister, Kathy Ann. Survivors include: Mother: Jerris Letourneau, Clay Center, KS Son: Derek Letourneau Aunt: Tommy Kurz, Clay Center, KS Aunt: Lenora Bartek, Marysville, KS Cousin: Marsha Kurz, Clay Center, KS Cousin: Russell Kurz, Wichita, KS Adopted Family: Dave and wife Paula Akalis, Augusta, KS and their children; Caleb, Rebecca and Jessica Memorial Services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers. Inurnment will be at the Idana Cemetery, Idana, Kansas. Memorials can be made to Idana Presbyterian Church c/o the funeral home
