Derrell Marshall

DERRELL MARSHALL died August 30, 2013 at his residence in Clifton, KS at the age of 87. He was born on March 17, 1926 in Washington County, Kansas the son of Percy and Bertha (Morris) Marshall. Derrell was raised in the Clifton area and graduated fro Clifton High School in 1944. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was stationed in Guam. Derrell married Shirley Ann Knox in 1947. They mad their home in Clifton and Derrell worked for Northern Natural Gasfor 38 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, the Clifton American Legion and the Clyde VFW. Derrell is preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two grandsons. Survivors include: Wife: Shirley Marshall, Clifton, KS Daughter: Tanis and husband Elmer Finkbiner, Clifton, KS Daughter: Joan and husband Joe Flesher, Clifton, KS Daughter: Susan and husband Larry Thomas, Clay Center, KS Son: Stan and wife Ann Marshall, Clifton, KS Son: Dan and wife Marla Marshall, Clay Center, KS 14 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren & 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the St. Marys Catholic Church in Clifton, Kansas. Officiating the service will be The Rev. Larry Letourneau. Burial will be at the St. Marys Cemetery, Clifton, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday 5-7 PM at Turner Funeral Home with rosary at 7 PM Memorials can be made to St Marys Cemetery Fund or the Clifton Ambulance.
