DOLORES WERNER died October 15, 2007 at 310 Webster, Clay Center, KS at the age of 84. Dolores was born on January 20, 1923 in Clay Center Kansas, the daughter of John Slingsby and Bertha Gertrude Thompson.
She attended Four Mile Grade School in Clay County and graduated from CCCHS in 1939. She later graduated from Topeka Business College. On January 31, 1943, she married Lowell Werner and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2005, having celebrated 62 years of marriage. Mrs. Werner worked for Bartlett Accounting and then for Kloppenberg Accounting in Clay Center for several years. She also worked for the Clay County Extension Office. She retired from Leiszler Oil Company as a bookkeeper after 17 years of service. She was a Girl Scout and Brownie leader and was the accompanist at the Rock Springs 4-H camp for several years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center. She was also preceded in death by an infant grandson.

Son: Corwyn and wife, Janet Werner, Whitewood, SD
Grandchildren: 4 grand and 6 great grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2007 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas .
Officiating the service will be Pastor James Byers.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on 3-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
