DONALD L. COPELAND died February 19, 2011 at Presbyterian Manor, Newton, KS at the age of 87. He was born on August 20, 1923 in Idana, Kansas the son of Beattie and Effie (McMahan) Copeland. He was raised in Clay County, KS and graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1941. He married Delores Hildenbrand on March 1, 1945 in Clay Center, KS and she survives of the home in Wichita. He farmed and raised cattle in Green, KS, was a Sears service technician and worked for Gilmore-Tatge Manufacturing in Clay Center. They moved to Wichita in 1969 where he was the parts and service manager for O.J. Watson Truck Equipment until 1983 and then was the hydraulic lab supervisor for Blanchant Machine from 1983 until retiring in 1992. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Wichita and served as a Deacon and Elder of the church, past president of the March of Dimes of Centeral Kansas and was active as an A.S.A. women's softball umpire and high school football official. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters, Edna Hatfield, Viola Oberhelman and Mary Goodin. Survivors include: Wife: Delores Copeland, Wichita, KS Daughter: Sandy and husband Gregg Russell, Wichita, KS Son: Steven and wife Genie Copeland, Wichita, KS Son: Sam and wife Merri Copeland, Wichita, KS Brother: Joe and wife Edie Copeland, Pueblo, CO Brother: Delber and wife Mary Copeland, Hays, KS Brother: Bob and wife Barbara Copeland, Sun City West, AZ Grandchildren: 7 Grandchildren & 3 Great- Grandchildren Memorial Services will be Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Wichita, Kansas. Graveside Services will be Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 3:30 PM in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the services will be Pastor Art Smith. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on None
