Donald Riek

DONALD R. RIEK died June 6, 2011 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 85. He was born on April 6, 1926 in Green, Kansas the son of Milo and Ruth (Easterberg) Riek. Donald was raised in Green and graduated from CCCHS in 1944. He farmed with his father before attending Airline School in Kansas City. Donald married Roma Liby on February 21, 1961, she survives of the home. He worked in ticketing and freight for National and Frontier Airlines. Donald then worked in the maintenance department at Gilmore-Tatge for several years. He also worked at St. Thomas Moore Hospital in Canon City, CO until he retired in 1989. Donald and Roma returned to Clay Center in 1993. He is preceded in death by a son Chuck Carlson, brother Bill Riek and a sister Donna Schurle. Survivors include: Wife: Roma Riek, Clay Center, KS Son: Alan and wife Kathy Carlson, Eudora, KS Daughter: Terri and husband Brent Snyder, Wichita, KS Daughter: Rita and husband Ross Alexander, Greeley, CO Son: Dennis and wife Arlene Riek, Clay Center, KS Sister: Betty Faulconer, Houston, TX 8 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Memorials can be made to Clay Center Presbyterian Manor or Arthritis Foundation c/o the funeral home
