Donald Tyrell

DONALD LOREN TYRELL died October 9, 2008 at Golden Livingcenter, Wakefield, KS at the age of 86. He was born on August 14, 1922 in Dickinson County, KS the son of Chester Tyrell and Clara Luthi. Donald was raised in Dickinson County. He farmed before serving in the Army during WWII where he received the bronze star. He married Dorothy Bletscher on July 9, 1943, she survives of the home. He returned to farming in the Wakefield area following the war. He served on the board of directors for the Wakefield Elevator. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters. Survivors include: Wife: Dorothy Tyrell, Wakefield, KS Daughter: Donna and husband Jim Klein, Clay Center, KS Son: Gailen and wife Mitzi Tyrell, Wakefield, KS Sister: Mary Jane Macy, Abilene, KS Sister: Emma Lou and husband Alfred Pishny, Blue Rapids, KS Sister: Jesse Rummel, Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: 4 Grand and 3 Great-grand Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Wakefield Chapel in Wakefield, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Gerald Martin. Burial will be at the Greenridge Cemetery, Dickinson County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 5-8 PM Friday at the Wakefield Funeral Home Memorials can be made to to the charity of the donor's choice
