Donald Wright, Sr.

Donald Wright, Sr, 84 of Clay Center, Kansas, died on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the Clay County Medical Center. Don was born on November 29,1941 in Branson, Missouri, the son of William and Hazel (McVay) Wright in Branson, Missouri.

He grew up in Branson, Missouri. After his school years Don joined the United States Army. After the Army he moved to Wichita and worked with his father in the exterminator business. Later on in life, Don came to Clay Center and remained in the extermination business until he retired. He taught martial arts for free for many years in Clay Center and lovingly called Destiny Stafford his “Martial Arts Daughter”.

Don is survived by his wife Kim, and his sons Don Wright, Jr and Ronnie Wright.

Visitation will be held from 12:00PM until 1:30PM on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, Kansas.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, May 1, 2026 in the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Don Wright memorial fund, to be designated by the family, and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
