Donald Wurtz

DONALD G. WURTZ, 85 died February 14, 2015 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, KS. He was born on October 28, 1929 in Clyde, KS the son of Gerald and Edmay (Racette) Wurtz. Donald graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Education. He married Berniece Veesart on August 17, 1949. Don was an elementary and Jr. High teacher in Clifton for 45 years. In March 1992, Don received the Teachers Make a Difference award. He also coached football, basketball, baseball and track for the school. Don was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church and served on the Clifton City Council. He is preceded in death by parents, brother, Jim Wurtz and sister, Evelyn Hedke Survivors: Wife: Berniece Wurtz, Clifton, KS Daughter: Linda and husband Richard Chaput, Salina, KS Daughter: Jeanette and husband Dan Pearson, Bartlesville, OK Daughter: Donna Breeding, Clifton, KS Son Gary and wife Cindy Wurtz, California Brothers: Jack Wurtz, Derald Wurtz, Charles Wurtz and Larry Wurtz Sisters: Sharon McDaniels, Trudy Weir and Mary Parmentor 13 Grandchildren and 25 Great-grandchildren After cremation, memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the St Marys Catholic Church in Clifton, KS Officiating the service will be The Rev. Larry Letourneau Inurnment will be in the St. Marys Cemetery, Clifton, KS Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 5-7 PM with rosary recited at 7 PM at Turner Funeral Chapel in Clifton Memorials: Donald G.
