DORA DEANE LIPS died December 20, 2011 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay
Center, KS at the age of 86. DORA DEANE LIPS was born on July 9, 1925 in Clay Center
Kansas, the son of Walter W. Hartman and Elida Palmateer.
Dora Deane was raised in Clay Center and graduated from Clay Center High School in
1943. After graduating from Brown-Mackie Business College she assisted her family in
operating the Hartman Broom Factory. She and her husband later owned and operated Metal
Muncher until her retirement in 2001. She married Walter Lips on May 20, 1951 and he survives
of the home. She was active in the Clay County Museum, Humane Society and the Morganville
United Methodist Church.

Son: Kent and wife JoAnn Lips, Clay Center, KS
Brother: Walter and wife Dorothy Hartman, Abilene, KS
Grandchildren: 3 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the United
Methodist Church in Morganville, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Gail Lund.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 26 from 3-8pm with family greeting friends from
5-6pm.
