Dorene Munson

DORENE MUNSON died January 26, 2012 at Good Samaritan Society, Minneapolis, KS at the age of 84. She was born on December 10, 1927 in Rooks County Kansas, the daughter of Louis and Mary Louise (Thyfault) Hamel. Dorene graduated from Palco High School in 1945 and attended Brown Mackie Business College. She married Gary Munson on April 4, 1959 and they were married for 31 years. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's Organization. Dorene is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald and Richard Hamel. Survivors include: Son: Michael and wife Patti Munson, Ridgecrest, CA Daughter: Renee and husband Ron Bass, Emporia, KS Daughter: Karla and husband Jeff Pohlman, Bennington, KS 5 Grandsons: Joshua Pohlman, Lucas Pohlman, Ryan Bass, Austin Bass and Parker Bass 2 Step-grandchildren: Robert Martin and Jessica Moore 6 Great-grandchildren: Hannah Pohlman, Halee Pohlman, Abigail Pohlman, Shelby Moore, Emily Moore and Jacob Moore Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center, Kansas . Officiating the service will be Father Larry Grennan. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Monday, 3-6:30PM at the funeral home with rosary recited at 6:30PM Memorials can be made to SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church c/o the funeral home
