DUANE HINKLE, 94 died April 4, 2016 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, KS. He was born on February 26, 1922 in Navarre, KS, the son of Charles and Tressa (Benedict) Hinkle. Duane was raised in Navarre and graduated from Chapman High School. He served in the US Army during WWII. Duane married Elaine Rutz on January 1, 1946. He worked as a bookkeeper in Kansas City and Wichita before moving to Junction City. In the early 1950's, they moved to Clay Center and Duane worked for Union State Bank. He also served as the Clay Center City Clerk for many years. Duane was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Kiwanis. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 1 sister.
