Earl James "Corky" Hammond died December 12, 2008 at Woodland Hills, CA at the age of 77. Mr. Hammond was born on February 19, 1931 in Wakefield, Kansas the son of William Keene and Mary Elizabeth (Muston) Hammond, the youngest of seven children. He attended Golden Ridge grade school and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1948. Mr. Hammond served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean War. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1957 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He married Muriel Jean Mickle on August 6, 1960.
He worked as a CPA and corporate tax accountant, retiring from 20th Century Fox Film Corporation in 1993 as a Vice President-Taxes after over 20 years of service. In retirement he devoted much time to volunteering, especially as Chief Financial Officer of the Sweet and Hot Music Festival.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was known for his kind and gentle nature. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pearl Hemphill; and brothers, Lloyd, Joseph, and Leroy Hammond.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Mizpah United Methodist Church in Clay County, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry Brock.
Burial will be at the Mizpah Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mizpah United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
